General Info

For general info, go to the housing website's official page for University Towers. The page will give you basic information on UT and you can even take a virtual tour of one of the rooms! There is also a link for Identities and Communities in Action (ICIA), the new living learning community that will be housed in UT.

Layout

University Towers is a nine-story tower with two wings. There will be one Resident Advisor and one Academic Mentor on floors two through nine. The RA and AM rooms will be located by the elevators at the start of each wing.

    The first floor houses:

  1. Main entrance
  2. Front desk
  3. STAR Center
  4. RHC Office
  5. Graduate Assistant offices
  6. Faculty Fellow office
  7. Laundry facilities
  8. Pool
  9. TV lounge
  10. Classroom
  11. RHC Apartment
  12. RHCA (Graduate Assistant) Apartment

    Floors 2 thru 9 houses:

  1. Resident rooms
  2. RA & AM rooms
  3. Study area
The Desk

University Tower's front desk is located directly next to the main entrance. The desk is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, including during breaks. There is one desk assistant at the desk during daytime hours. During nighttime hours (9pm - 1am on weekdays; 9pm - 3am Friday & Saturdays) there is one desk assistant and one security monitor.

The number for UT's desk is (4-****) from an on-campus phone, (619)594-**** from off-campus phones.

Facility Issues

Separate Maintenance & Custodial Staff

Currently, University Towers has its own Maintenance and Custodial staff. The protocol for duty and dealing with issues will be different than the other six halls. Protocol is yet to be determined but will be settled before start of 2005-06 academic year.
