Halloween-themed Quiz Game
Interactive game created in Storyline
This one goes all the way back to when Articulate Storyline had just come out. I tested the software out by trying to build as much gamification into small quiz games as I could. You can do a lot more with Storyline now, but at the time I was pretty pleased with how I was able to make the quiz more engaging than simply answering a question.
The gameplay itself is “whack-a-mole” style where the user has to be ready to catch the witch when they fly on screen. The user only gets so many chances and with each miss, points are deducted. So the user can try to beat their own high score in addition to answering the questions.
We deployed this in an electronic newsletter and this was the game I got the best feedback on. People even said they did in fact play it multiple times to try to beat their own high score.
